In 1960, he graduated from the Graphic Department of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Repin.
While still being a student began this cooperation with the "Battle pencil."
Later worked primarily with children's literature.
From 1971, was the art director of children's magazine "Kostyer."
In 1989 he emigrated to the U.S., where worked as art director of the newspaper "New Russian Word".
