Antonov Fedor Vasiljevich

17.04.1904  —  1994

People's Artist of the RSFSR (1975). Studied in VKhUTEMAS in Moscow (1922–1929) under the tutorship of S.V. Gerasimov. Member of "OST" group (1927–1932), Friends with A.Deyneki and Y.Pimenova. During Great Patriotic War Antonov has created a series of posters, including the portrates of Soviet Union's heroes (I.Shumilov, I.Zabolotny, U.Gromov and others). Lectured at MIPIDI (Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art) and MIT. Professor of painting at Moscow State Textile Institute. Antonov's work has been exhibited in Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Bulgaria, Germany. Personal exhibitions took place in Moscow in 1934, 1954, 1964 Antonov's work is exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many other provintial musiums.
