1902 born in Ekaterinburg
1928-1930s studied at VKHUTEIN in Moscow under Buni and Moor. Work on political satire and posters.
1930s -1960s illustrated for newspapers such as "Krasnaya zvezda" (Red star), "Pravda" (Thruth), "Izvestiya" (News) and for the magazines "Prozhektor" (Projector), "Sovetskiy voin" (Soviet soldier), "Ogonek" (Light). Worked on political posters.
1941-1945 created posters and graphical series of the Second World War.
1948 received a diploma of high qualification for the International Exhibition of Posters in Vienna.
1963 named as Honoured Arts worker of the RSFSR
1969 received a Gold medal of the Soviet Peace Fund for the international exhibition "Satire in the Fight for Peace" in Moscow.
1980 died in Moscow.
Main works: 1933 "Five-Year Plan" (created with Deni), and in 1948 worked with Efimov.
