Borovsky David Borisovich

Famous graphic artist from Leningrad.
Was born in Leningrad in 1926.
From 1945 until1952 was studing at the Repin State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. (USSR Academy of Arts), where he was under a ferule of L.I.Rudakov and V.M.Konashevich. (1952). Became famose after he had illustated Turgenev's novel "Vernant Waters".
A member of all-union and international exhibitions of Soviet graphic in Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria.
In 1954 Tretyakov Gallery included a number of his works into their permanent collection at the Soviet Department. In 1990 the artist stops working in graphics entirely and starts oil paiting. The main themes of his work now become ballet, portrait, landscape and childhood.
Works by Borovskoy are stored in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum.
In 2004 he died in St. Pererburge
