Belsky Anatolij Pavlovich

Illustrator, theatrical designer.
Studied at the Stroganov Central School of Industrial Art (1908-1917) under Egorov V.E., Scherbinovsky D.A., and at VKHUTEMAS in Moscow (1917-1921) under Pyotr Konchalovsky's and F.F. Fedorovsky's tutorships. In 1921 the scene design for the Lunacharsky's play " Royal barber" was part of his graduate work.
He lived in Moscow. Did costume design and decorations for variety shows (1920-1921).He did movie posters. He produced posters to such movies as "Handset of Communards" (1928 ) , "The Storm" (1933 ) , "Chapaev" (1934 ) , "Alexander Nevsky" (1936 ) , "The Girl with the character " ( 1939) , " Yakov Sverdlov " (1940 ) , " Glinka " (1946 ; awarded honorary diploma at an exhibition in Vienna, film posters in 1948 ), " We are from Kronstadt ", " Great Life " (both - 1949), " Through the Eyes of a movie " (1957 ) , "Cradle of a poet" (1958) and others. He participated in the design of the Soviet pavilion at the World Exhibition in Philadelphia (1928 ) , pavilions VSHV " Viticulture ", " Wine " (both - 1939) , " Glavholod " ( 1954). He worked as a landscape painter ( series of landscapes near Moscow ) , illustrator .
Exhibited at the exhibition of Soviet Movie Posters (1956), at the exhibition " Poster and Satire in 40 years of Moscow artists' works" ( 1958) in Moscow and elsewhere .
